From Double Mountain:
Get your 2025 Seasonal Ciders While You Still Can!
We’re excited to roll out our full 2025 Seasonal Cider lineup, a lineup that means a lot to us. These six ciders: Perry, Ashmead, Estate, Maybelline, Zora, and Harrison, are all handcrafted right here in the Hood River Valley, using local fruit and traditional methods that let the apples and pears speak for themselves.
At Double Mountain, we never back sweeten our ciders. What you’re tasting is the fruit, plain and simple. Most of it comes from nearby orchards, including our very own Swihart Orchards, where the apples grow wild, weird, and full of character. Fermented with native yeast and aged with patience, these ciders reflect the land they come from and the people who grow the fruit.
Let’s break it down:
Perry is our ode to the Hood’s legendary pears. It’s made entirely from local fruit and comes out elegant, aromatic, and just tannic enough to keep things interesting. It’s a classic, and it’s here to stay.
Ashmead is back, built around the curious and delightful Ashmead’s Kernel apple. It’s got that old-school orchard funk, bright acidity, soft tannin, and a big, round body. It’s everything we love about traditional cider.
Estate remains one of our most special ciders. We make it using cider apples grown at our own orchard. Fermented with ambient yeast and aged with care, it’s dry, earthy, and layered with complexity.
* Available on draft only, bottles are already gone.
Maybelline is back with her usual flair. She’s a blend of apples and pears that starts crisp and dry, then opens up into citrus and melon with a little orchard funk at the finish. Off-dry, juicy, and just a touch mysterious.
Zora is the wild one, new to the lineup and already turning heads. She’s tart, juicy, and packed with natural fermentation character. If you like your cider raw and adventurous, Zora’s your gal.
* Available in bottles only, draft is already sold out.
Harrison is our nod to cider history. This heritage apple dates back to the 1700s and brings a golden richness and natural complexity that reminds us why folks fell in love with it in the first place.
As Matt Swihart (our brewmaster and orchard guy) puts it: “These ciders aren’t sweetened or dressed up, they’re raw expressions of the orchard and the land we love.” And that’s really what it’s all about.
You can grab these seasonal ciders now, most are available in limited 500ml refillable bottles and on draft at our taprooms. You can also order bottles online from our cider store, and we’ll ship them straight to your door.
Stop by, stock up, and raise a glass to the fruit that made us who we are. Cheers!
