Hi-Wire Brewing Wins Silver at World Beer Cup® for Flagship Hi-Wire Lager

From Hi-Wire:

ASHEVILLE, NC  (May 5, 2025) – Hi-Wire Lager — the flagship beer that launched Hi-Wire Brewing in 2013 — earned international acclaim last week at the 2025 World Beer Cup®, bringing home a silver medal in the International-Style Pilsener category. This win marks the brewery’s fourth World Beer Cup® award, following closely behind their 2024 silver for Churro 10W-40 Imperial Stout, a seasonal dessert stout that is now available on shelves and in taprooms.  zzubreebym

The World Beer Cup® is the most prestigious beer competition in the world, and this year’s ceremonies took place May 1, 2025 at Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Awards were given in 112 style categories. There were 80 entries in the International-Style Pilsener category.

Brewed with Pilsen malt and German hops, Hi-Wire Lager is light, clean, and balanced. A best-seller at Hi-Wire’s taprooms, it’s also one of the top-selling draft selections distributed to bars and restaurants across the region. What began as a local cult favorite has now made its mark on the international stage.

“This win brings our story full-circle. Hi-Wire Lager was our first beer, and while we’re known for a wide range of styles, earning silver in such a classic category feels like a lifetime achievement. This beer is like our spirit animal; it’s a staff go-to when we get together for a drink after work. We’re thrilled,” said Adam Charnack, Co-Founder and CEO of Hi-Wire Brewing.

Hi-Wire Lager is available year-round on draft at all Hi-Wire taprooms, select bars and restaurants, and in 6-packs of 16oz cans on store shelves. Discover the closest location to grab a Hi-Wire Lager by visiting their Beer Finder: hiwirebrewing.com/beer-finder.

The World Beer Cup competition, established by the Brewers Association in 1996, crowns the globe's brewing elite. This year, an international group of 265 discerning beer judges, representing 37 countries, undertook the monumental task of evaluating 8,375 entries from 1761 breweries across 49 countries.
