This morning we bring you a peek at a beer I’m excited to see return in 2018. This is
Le Kriek Noir and it is part of the Wood Cellar Reserve Series from
New Belgium Brewing in Fort Collins,
CO. This beer begins with a “small portion of authentic Kriek Lambic from Brouwerij Oud Beersel” to create
Transatlantique Kriek. That beer is then blended with a single foeder of a dark sour beer. The resulting brew is then aged in red wine barrels to end the three-year process. Le Kriek Noir will hit
7.3%-AbV, it is aged 36-months and it will be packaged in 375ml and 750ml bottles (in April 2018). A label approved in mid-April 2018 shows the beer at 6.5%-AbV (below).
