Philly Beer Week & Free Will Brewing Team Up To Help Belgium's Hof ten Dormaal

Last year, local brewers Free Will and Belgian brewery Hof ten Dormaal collaborated on the annual “Win a Trip to Belgium” raffle winner’s beer, an annual tradition for Philly Beer Week (PBW).  Then, in early January, the Belgian farmhouse brewery was virtually destroyed by a fire.  This month, just ahead of PBW 2015, Free Will will hold a fundraiser to support their friends overseas as they rebuild their facility and prepare to begin brewing again.

The fundraiser will take place on Friday, May 8 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Free Will in Perkasie, PA:

  • All proceeds and beer sales will go to Hof ten Dormaal, with Free Will donating at least 60% of their own sales to the brewery that day. There will also be a Silent Auction offering guests the opportunity to bid on rare and special bottles from Hof ten Dormaal, Cantillon and more.
  • The event will feature nearly two dozen beers from Free Will and Hof ten Dormaal, including:
    • Free Will’s Peach Lambic, Chasing the Dragon IIPA, Kragle IPA, Kriek Lambic, Techno IPA, Pixie’s Revenge and many more will be on draft; and Cuvee Aigre will be on cask
    • Additional draught surprises from Hof ten Dormaal and Bella Vista Beer Distributors
  • Guests will also enjoy a buffet-style dinner from Kenny Correll of the forthcoming Ben’s BBQ and Brewhouse in Bensalem, including:
    • Smoked Pulled Pork with 10w Porter barbecue sauce
    • Apple-Smoked, Honey and Mango Wheat Glazed Chicken Wings
    • Farmhouse Cheddar Mac’n’Cheese
    • Grilled Vegetables
    • Baby Greens Salad with caramelized cashews, Montrachet cheese and strawberries, with cider vinaigrette
  • In addition, the Beer Busters will host a live podcast introducing PBW and talking about Hof ten Dormaal and the devastating fire that claimed much of their farmhouse brewery in January
