NY City Bars Pouring Pints That Don’t Measure Up

We see this locally as well.  In our case it’s bars serving happy-hour beers in challis-shaped glasses where the glass is so thick, they actually hold about 8oz of beer in the end.   So it’s no surprise that an investigation by the New York Post in NY City is showing that most pints are really only 12-14 ounces:

City pubs are skimping on the suds — pouring out “pints” of beer in glasses that measure between 12 and 14 ounces.

A Post investigation found nine out of 15 bars across the East Village, West Village and Williamsburg poured less than 16 ounces when a pint was ordered.

  1. Which is why, bars need to start serving the beer in "imperial Pint" Glasses. That way they are sure to fit a "pint"
