Bend Oregon – Deschutes Brewery swept from Oregon to the world stage as its Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale took the title of “World’s Best Beer,” again! Along with this top honor, this spring seasonal also swept three sub-categories winning World’s Best Pale, World’s Best Pale Ale, and The Americas Best Pale Ale.

Cam O’Connor, brewmaster for Deschutes Brewery, said, “Our brewing team always strives to produce high quality, consistent beers year after year. Receiving World’s Best Beer twice for Red Chair is a testament to the amount of attention we give to each beer and receiving the award a great honor.”

The World Beer Award program selects winners for internationally recognized beer styles from around the world by blind-tasting hundreds of entries from nearly 40 countries. Awards were announced following four rounds of judging by an international, highly respected judging panel. The competition selects, awards, and promotes to consumers the best beers available internationally.

About Deschutes Brewery

Located in beautiful Bend, Oregon, Deschutes Brewery is in the business of daring people to expect more from their beer. That's why we started off in 1988, on the banks of the Deschutes River here in Bend, Oregon, by selling Black Butte Porter at a time when others were sure a dark beer would never catch on. Our brewers love to push the envelope, especially if it makes someone nervous. But for us, the highest praise is a raised glass and a toast of "Bravely Done!"
