AB/InBev Fights Maes (Heineken) In Color Trademark Infringement Case

Who knew you can actually trademark a distinct color on packaging…well at least the Consumer Court in Brussels does.  AB/InBev is fighting Maes beer over the use of blue on their Jupiler Blue packaging….and so far they are losing.  Details from BeverageDaily.com:

AB InBev intends to fight a court decision that will force it to remove its Jupiler Blue beer from sale in Belgium, after a ruling that it had infringed a colour trademark held by rival brand Maes, whose ultimate owner is the Heineken Group.
