Here’s a new label approval for another great barrel-aged brew from DuClaw Brewing in Abingdon, MD.  Today we have Retribution Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels.  This big 9% ABV flavored stout will be packaged in 22oz bottles with a limited run of 24 barrel batches.  “Retribution is a full-bodied, Single Barrel Bourbon-aged Imperial Stout with rich aromas of espresso & dark chocolate, & smooth roasted malt flavor, aged for 6-months inside charred Kentucky white-oak bourbon barrels to add the natural vanilla and caramelized sugar flavors of the bourbon soaked wood to the beer.  Each bottle run is drawn from a single barrel, making each batch a unique drinking experience & a physical manifestation of patience justified.”

    Not being an "educated" beer drinker, I keep trying stouts looking for a beer that I will enjoy as much as the Guinness I had in Ireland. Retribution has been the most pleasant surprise so far. I REALLY liked it! Headed out for a couple more before they're gone....

    Thanks Skate....I haven't tried this one myself yet, but Irish Guinness is tasty so I bet I'll like it.
